Cannot uninstall module

The module cannot be successfully uninstalled, even after all files that used the module have been erased.

The following message is displayed on admin/modules/uninstall:
"The following reason prevents Date Recur from being uninstalled:
- Fields pending deletion"

    I've been trying to uninstall this module permanently for more than 6 months and I have the exact same problem as in this question. Is there a solution ? Can you update the module to be uninstallable?

    Provide steps in a new issue with how to re-produce from a stock install of Drupal with the project installed.
