Hide some fields in tables on small screens

Created on 26 June 2016, about 9 years ago
Updated 31 July 2025, 4 days ago

Problem/Motivation

On several places, a list of entity types is displayed with name, description and operations. On a small screen, the form gets very long because the description extends over several rows.
This is the case for Content types, Comment types, Menus, Taxonomy #2752849: Display vocabulary description on Taxonomy page β†’

A similar problem exists for Contact forms and Views where the table requires scrolling sideways.

Proposed resolution

Use responsive tables to hide the description column for Content types, Comment types, Menus, and Taxonomy; and to hide appropriate columns from Contact forms and Views.

Thank you for sharing your idea for improving Drupal.

We are working to decide if this proposal meets the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or there is no community support. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.

    Thanks!
