Provide access to action links in the modules page on small screens

Created on 25 September 2015, about 9 years ago
Updated 20 January 2023, almost 2 years ago

Problem/Motivation

The modules page used to have the action links for Help, Configuration and Permissions directly visible. In Drupal 8, these are now hidden in the collapsed module information, and are impossible to use in screens smaller than 60em.

Proposed resolution

Create a dropbutton with the action links, so that it's possible to use in all screen sizes, and doesn't require the manual uncollapse of the summary to check if the operations exist.

Remaining tasks

Review and merge.

User interface changes

The modules page will now have the action links visible by default, as a dropbutton.

  • Usability

Makes Drupal easier to use. Preferred over UX, D7UX, etc.

  • Needs subsystem maintainer review

It is used to alert the maintainer(s) of a particular core subsystem that an issue significantly impacts their subsystem, and their signoff is needed (see the governance policy draft for more information). Also, if you use this tag, make sure the issue component is set to the correct subsystem. If an issue significantly impacts more than one subsystem, use needs framework manager review instead.

  • Accessibility

It affects the ability of people with disabilities or special needs (such as blindness or color-blindness) to use Drupal.
