Your smart trim module seems like a superb beginning in fixing a Drupal deficiency. I am using the "Read More" link as part of a View, and it's almost exactly what I needed. Long posts end with "Read More" and link to the full post.
However, and noticed one big problem. I have < ! - - break - - >
comment tags (note that I had to add spaces to the "break" comment tag here to get it to show up in this posting, so obviously you want to remove those spaces if testing yourself) in some of my long posts, to tell Drupal where to break the teaser. Smart Trim seems to respect this and insert the "Read More" tag at that location. However, Smart Trim does NOT respect when I place < ! - - break - - >
at the very end of a post.
I put the < ! - - break - - >
at the very end of a post (with no following spaces or characters) in order to tell Drupal to include the entire post in the teaser view. In other words, to tell it that there's NO teaser and to just show the full post. Unfortunately, Smart Trim still interprets such posts as having a teaser and inserts the "Read More" link!
Smart Trim should recognize when a < ! - - break - - >
comment tag is at the very end of a post and refrain from adding the "Read More" link there.
Thank you!
