Allow users to omit the http:// prefix in URL form input elements

Created on 8 March 2012, over 13 years ago
Updated 27 March 2025, 4 months ago

Problem

  • Form elements asking for a URL (such as Comment module's homepage) require the user to add the http:// prefix to the URL. That's so 1995-ish...

Goal

  • Make URL form elements accept URLs (domains) without http:// prefix (and automatically prepend it as default protocol)
