We have returned the "We stand with Ukraine" banner back to the Drupal.org homepage, with the link to the Drupal Association Statement of Support and links to humanitarian organizations doing work to support Ukraine.

The Drupal Association never wavered in its support for Ukraine. We recognize both how important the Ukrainian Drupal community is and we recognize that Russia's aggression against Ukraine has not relented.

The Association is undertaking updates to Drupal.org, to improve the user experience, better organize information, and soon to upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10. In this effort, we took down the "We stand with Ukraine" banner and have been discussing other ways to more sustainably support Ukraine and other Drupal communities experiencing violent aggression. We will continue this discussion because we are here to support the global Drupal Community and will incorporate any new approaches as we convert from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10. We will communicate our ideas and get feedback ahead of time to affected communities.

I thank you for your patience and, more importantly, for speaking up.

The Drupal Association made the decision to rotate messages on the D.org landing page. We must be able to message multiple project- and community-related social causes in this particular space. The rotation of a message here does not indicate a change in our position for any given cause, which in this case is still firmly in support of Ukraine against Russian aggression.

A year and half ago, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the Drupal Association Board of Director's made the unprecedented decision to take a public position on the war and highlight it on the website and at DrupalCons. Such action was prompted by the shock of the invasion and the knowledge of how large the Drupal community in Ukraine is. The war continues, as does the support of the Drupal Association for the Ukrainian Drupal community.

Given the requests made here, the Drupal Association will look into how we can continue to demonstrate our support for Ukraine, while understanding that there are other conflicts all over the globe that affect our communities. We are a global community and want to find a way to highlight the issues that affect our many communities around the world- while at the same time knowing that is not within our mission or frankly within our capability to be a global anti-war advocacy organization.

We ask for your patience as we think through this issue further. And I personally apologize for not communicating our plans and reasoning proactively, now realizing how such a change without explanation can cause stress.
