I'm unable to reproduce the issue on a fresh Drupal/Mercury/Content Moderation install with no code customizations so I'm thinking it must be something in our custom codebase. I'm going to close the issue until further investigation can be done. Thanks Aten for the sweet editing tool!

The patch in #8 fixed the issue for us. The CSS in #10 wasn't needed in our case.
