Content reverts to previous version when editing with Content Moderation enabled

Content reverts to the previously saved version when editing content with Content Moderation enabled using Mercury Editor.

Enable Mercury Editor and Content Moderation modules.
Enable Mercury Editor for a Content Entity at /admin/config/content/mercury-editor.
Enable Content Moderation for the same Content Entity at /admin/config/workflow/workflows.
Add a content entity of the type that now has Content Moderation and Mercury Editor enabled. Click "Save" to originally save the entity.
Make an edit and click "Save" again. The content will revert to the previous version.
The expected behavior would be that the content stays up-to-date after saving without reverting to the previous version.

Content is displayed with updates after "Save" is clicked in Mercury Editor.

I'm unable to reproduce the issue on a fresh Drupal/Mercury/Content Moderation install with no code customizations so I'm thinking it must be something in our custom codebase. I'm going to close the issue until further investigation can be done. Thanks Aten for the sweet editing tool!
