Read this first

First of all - this is just prototyping to test together with the AI moduel for
now, do not use this in production. A lot will change and a lot will not work
the same.

ONLY use this locally.

This only works together with the AI module 1.1.x right now, but the idea is to
get this available in ECA as well.

Currently this is not adapted to the most used ways of doing this which is sse
or stdio servers, meaning that these requires a middle server.

The idea in the future is to have the new streaming transport available directly
via Drupal, without any middle server needed. But right now its needed.

How to get started

If you use stdio servers, use supergateway on a port as a sse server.
When you have a sse server up an running, use the rest-mcp-wrapper to connect it with npx rest-mcp-wrapper --type sse -u {your-host} --port 3500 to set it on localhost:3500.
Install the mcp client module.
Go to configuration -> AI -> MCP Servers
Click Add MCP Server
Add a label and the hostname - in our example http://localhost:3500.
After you saved, click edit on it and check the tools you want to expose.
Go to the tool explorer from AI API Explorer and you should see the tool.
