Provide backup/restore functionality for db/code

There hasn't been any further discussion here since soon after this issue was created 11 years ago. Is this still a desire feature for core?

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, I am setting the status to Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.

I think this is being worked on for the new 'Package Manager' and 'Update Manager' plumbing. Certainly won't be added to the legacy 'Update Manager'. See 📌 Deprecate/remove the ability to update a module from a URL and authorize.php Active . Tempted to close this as 'outdated' or something.

I think this needs to be revisited both for automatic updates and for site export/import from Drupal CMS desktop app and similar, but that should probably happen in Drupal CMS first.

Based on #22 I search for am issue to postpone this on and didn't find anything in the Drupal CMS project or automatic updates.

Anyone know of a place for this?

There is the https://www.drupal.org/project/aue → contrib module. I think it would be worth a Drupal CMS feature request to discuss more generally how to incorporate it there?
