Add feature to publish/unpublish a book or section

Wonder if anyone knows this is still needed or could be closed?

The feature still isn't there and it makes the same amount of sense than when I created it originally, IMHO. So re-activating.

But on the other hand, not many people have chimed in, and I know from experience that book has been used less and less with the years, from what I hear from other french devs at least. So maybe there's not enough interest to warrant keeping it open ?

Maybe whoever takes over book in contrib will want to address some of this issues. So worth keeping open I think.

This extension is being deprecated, see #[3376070] It will be removed from core and moved to a contrib project, 📌 [11.x] [Meta] Tasks to remove Book Active .

This is now Postponed. The status is set according to two policies. The Remove a core extension and move it to a contributed project → and the Extensions approved for removal → policies.

This issue may be re-opened if it can be considered critical, If unsure, re-open the issue and ask in a comment.

So over 15 years hasn’t been a lot of interest in this one.

I’m leaning towards maybe out of scope? I’m just thinking about nodes in an outline that could be in a moderation state. So we would have to reinvent bulk operations to change those states.
