Selected term persists after switching vocabulary in Taxonomy Manager

Created on 20 June 2025, about 2 months ago

Problem/Motivation

When a user selects a term from a vocabulary in the Taxonomy Manager interface, the term is displayed on the right-hand side. If the user then switches to a different vocabulary using the vocabulary switcher, the previously selected term from the original vocabulary is still displayed on the right side. This can cause confusion, as it appears the term belongs to the currently active vocabulary, even though it does not.

Steps to reproduce

1. Navigate to the Taxonomy Manager interface (e.g., `/admin/structure/taxonomy_manager/voc`).
2. Select a vocabulary from the vocabulary switcher.
3. Click on any term within that vocabulary to select it β€” it will appear in the right-hand panel.
4. Use the vocabulary switcher to change to a different vocabulary.
5. Observe that the term from the previous vocabulary is still shown on the right side.

Proposed resolution

When the user switches to a different vocabulary, any selected terms from the previous vocabulary should be cleared from the right-hand panel.

Remaining tasks

User interface changes

The right-hand panel will no longer display terms that do not belong to the currently selected vocabulary, reducing confusion and improving usability.
