Suggestion for: Install Drupal CMS locally with DDEV

Created on 21 May 2025, 16 days ago

I tried to install Drupal CMS with ddev on Windows by following instructions from https://new.drupal.org/docs/drupal-cms/get-started/install-drupal-cms/in... and have found 2 small issues:

  1. In Step #2: Download Drupal CMS, it would be great to have a note for Windows users that commands should be run inside wsl
  2. In the same step, command to create a project should be changed to "ddev composer create-project drupal/cms" (create command is deprecated)

On a side note, is this page part of community documentation after it was "adopted"? I can't place my situation into any of suggestions:

- A major issue (for minor issues, either edit the page directly, or add a comment and then edit to change the Page Status to "needs technical review" or another appropriate status).
- An issue with a page that you don't have permission to edit (request that the page be unlocked in this issue, then go back and edit it).
- A request for new documentation to be created (or you can just create the documentation yourself by clicking Add Child Page at the bottom of the page where you want to add documentation).
- A request for comments to be deleted, after you have incorporated them into the text of the page.
- A report of inappropriate or misplaced content.
- A group of people working on a specific documentation project can also use issues to discuss and track their project.
