Update path from 4.0.0-beta?

There are a few update hooks in place, so it might already be possible. Needs to be tested.

Closing this. There are a few problems with this:

1. There are already update hooks within 11.x in place. The new update hooks need to run before these hooks, but its not a good practice to change the update hook sequence.
2. It will take quite a bit of time to implement this.

Therefore, I'll close this issue.
