What does it do?

Created on 22 April 2025, 22 days ago

This sounds like it could be useful, but can we add a bit more clarity to what is actually translated on media entities?

1. Does it only translate alternative text?

2. Does it allow for uploading different media versions per language? For example, different banners for each language, or audio files in the correct language?

    Hello @w01f

So this module enhances the user experience by opening a modal on the same create / edit form. Currently, when translating media in Drupal, users are required to navigate away from their content creation or editing workflow to access the media listing page, locate the specific media item, and then proceed to translate it on a separate page. This process can be cumbersome and disrupts the user's workflow.

To address this challenge, Media Library Translate introduces a dedicated button within the Media Library widget on content creation, editing, and translation pages. When clicked, this button opens a modal window that directly displays the translation overview for the selected media item. Within this modal, users can efficiently update translations without leaving their current context or opening additional pages
