Drupalcon Vienna

  • stand at DrupalCon Vienna (@Michaela)
  • Work together with Local Ambassadors initiative: get a bigger stand with spaces for different local communities to accommodate connecting with local groups
  • Lots of seating areas
  • Bigger space would be covered financially, costs can be similar to last year, but depends on what we want for furniture
  • can we/do we want to sponsor all day coffee?
  • Michaela can Reserve one BoF a day for local associations. For example for:
    • BoF mentoring newcoming
    • BoF local marketing
    • BoF new associations
    • Brainstorm about the area and type of booth we want
  • Brainstorm about social event meetings for all local associations and local volunteers → with Joi and EOWG et cetera.
  • Go/Non go within a month with concept of the booth and space needed
  • Mutual promotion
  • CFP (deadline 28th April)
  • Registrations (1st April)

    • Local ambassadeurs (Mupsi)

    • People will be asked what community they belong to (drupalcamp/country/association)
    • Text on Atlanta ticket form: “Please select the local Drupal Camp or Community you are affiliated with. If you do not see your local Drupal Camp or Community name listed, please contact Joi Garrett for assistance via email”
    • Show local group on your badge
    • No-free ticket system in EU
    • NEDA people asked to volunteer for the Newcomers Tour (so we have lots of different languages and connections)
    • Volunteers / new comer breakfast. Attend as local mentor for newbies.
    • Joi can bring the experience of Local Ambassadors from Atlanta (23-28march) to the working group of drupacon vienna

    • Do we need/want a Drupal Association Europe (as a common financial vehicle for the booth, la_eu site project et cetera)?
    • Open Collective is a good option to manage finances
    • Community interest company (that is asset locks)

    We could reuse the Dutch Stichting Drupal Europe; it already has ‘promote drupal’’ as its official goal, and already has a bank account with a small fund in it. This entity has no activities at the moment.

    • If used, we need to update the paperwork.
    • Drupal associations can become member (not individuals)
    • Member voices / meetings / votes
    • Board votes (Esmeralda and Floris van Geel are present in the board)
    • Get the local associations to get a membership fee.
