Recommend including an image in Planet Drupal feeds

Created on 8 February 2025, about 2 months ago

Problem/Motivation

The Planet Drupal page can sometimes be a wall of text, which makes it visually less appealing, and harder to quickly scan for new content.

Steps to reproduce

Visit Planet Drupal and have to scroll quite a bit, if you want to quickly check if new content has arrived. More images can be used as landmarks.

Visit Planet Drupal and see a visually unappealing wall of text.

Proposed resolution

Recommend that feeds include an image, by adding a new item on https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/docs/content/planet-drupal , under "Request to add a feed":

It is recommended that you include an image in your feed, using an absolute path, i.e. https:/example.org/img/my-image.jpg, not /img/my-image.jpg.

Remaining tasks

Add the item to the "Request to add a feed" list.
