Create 2.x dev release

I tried a few things like defining a custom repository for the 2.0.x branch and overriding as version 2.1 in composer.json.

That worked, but I also found this as the shortest way to go: composer require drupal/config_views:"dev-2.0.x as 2.1.0".

Thanks for flagging. I just joined to help co-maintain yesterday so let me just confirm with the other maintainers they are happy for me to do that.

Yes, there is no 2.x branch, just 2.0.x

So either we add a "2.x" branch or a "2.1.x" and do a dev release of that. Leaning towards the latter for simplicity, since I don't think its needed to do as Core does with both 11.x and 11.1.x branches with 2.0.x marked as unsupported already.

Will get back to you on that, but glad you have a temporary workaround.

I think the latter is fine. We just need something with 2.1 or above. I don't know if there's an advantage between those two formats.

Yeah agreed; I reached out to the other maintainers as I don't have sufficient access to change default branch. After that will be able to make a release for it.
