Move "Menu" under Content in navigation

Created on 16 January 2025, 3 months ago

Problem/Motivation

As a site builder and/or a new user, it is hard for me to find my way to the Menu management page.

I would like to see a link to "Menus" in the navigation sidebar.

Proposed resolution

  • Option 1: Add a link to "Menus" under "Content" - but this will be technically hard to acheive
  • Option 2: Add a first level link to "Menus" in the navigation under "Content" - easy peasy

Either way we need to choose an icon.

User interface changes

A new link to "Menus" is available in the navigation sidebar.

Won't move the issue for the moment, but this probably something that needs to be fixed in core, since Navigation is a core module and I'm not sure how much we're able to affect it in Drupal CMS.

Yeah, definitely don't think the IA of Drupal CMS should be different from core. So this would need to happen there. I'm not sure I agree though, for my part I certainly do not need to access menus anywhere near as often as content. Generally when I do update them I use the contextual links.
