Well... after a lot of fiddling and code review, I think I'll have to give up this...
One of the things I've been reviewing is the wide-content.css (from Olivero) and I copied that to try to do something similar, but it's hard with all the breakpoints.
If no one grabs it tomorrow, I *could* try again but Mike or Jen would figure it out so much quicker given they wrote the code, so maybe they could take a stab? Or at least point us in the right direction.

Yeah, when I set this up Olivero supported IE11. So it's super complicated. If I were to refactor it today, i'd be using subgrid.
Either way, I'll take a look at it shortly.
