Make 8.x-2.x the default branch in GitLab

Problem/Motivation

2.x branch was created for ✨ Add option to use other storage methods Active

Until 2.0.0 stable is out, we'll keep 1.x the recommeded branch. But 2.x should be set the default branch in GitLab, otherwise this causes developer confusion and risk of picking the old branch.

Without "Administer maintainers" permission, I can't access "Settings" in GitLab, so could you please make 2.x the default branch or grant the permission @chriz?
