New feature: Gallery containers

The galleries in D8+ are an entities. You can add to gallery some field for example "category" with entity reference to taxonomy terms

You can also create a custom views and use category field for filter

Try to use core features

This is my first ever Drupal Installation. I know how to add the field for the "category" with entity reference to taxonomy terms.

But I'm clueless on how I can create a custom views and use category field as filter?

Here's one of the things I'm trying to accomplish:

From the main galleries page have a gallery/folder that says Music, which links to folders/galleries of Artists, which links to folders/galleries of Albums, which links to a folder/gallery of Songs.

How would I accomplish something like that?

@Bryan,

I think you don't need Media Gallery for this task. Try to create

1) Taxonomy tree for Artists and Albums
2) Media type for songs with reference field to Album. Also you can create node type "Song" (with media field)
3) Install TVI → module and create custom view for taxonomy terms (Taxonomy doesn't show media by default). Or use nodes from #2
4) ...
5) PROFIT
