Implement Gutenberg Block imports

Problem/Motivation

A more sophisticated module could port over Gutenberg blocks which are the current main WordPress unit of content.

Fortunately we can already import the markup but the blocks are not fieldable entities (analogous to Paragraphs or similar ideas).

There is already a sophisticated Gutenberg Drupal module → .

You can test import Gutenberg blocks to Drupal using this XML file which was generated in Feb 2024 (part of my set of test imports for all to use.)

Proposed resolution

There are a few options.

• Build an extension into this module that creates blocks that match the Gutenberg Drupal module → implementation.
• Make a separate module since it will be an undertaking with a lot of commits.
• Patch onto the existing Gutenberg Drupal module → an adaptation or extension of this module. (following the pluggable architecture we are working on here: ✨ Support contrib wordpress data / custom data | Yoast SEO Needs review

Remaining tasks

Not sure yet! This is a pretty big lift, it will need a lot of work.
