Regular "XYZ has been added to cart" Drupal message still appears additionally

Problem/Motivation

When using commerce_add_to_cart_confirmation the regular Drupal message "XYZ has been added to cart" still appears additionally to the layer.

Sometimes it appears on next page load, e.g. when going into the cart. That's confusing for users.

When using the add to cart confirmation, the simple message should instead be hidden, I think. Maybe that should be configurable in this module (off by default I'd says) or in general?

Does it need a new hook in Commerce perhaps to allow other modules to alter / disable it?
