Drupal 11 compatibility fixes

I have made some changes . Please refer to the attached patch.

It would be great to make a new version of this package including compatibility with Drupal 11...

Patch #3 applied successfully.

The work for D10/D11 will be done in #3361245.

I will keep the ticket open until 3.x is released so that the patch can be found more easily.
