The service "extlink.setting_save.subscriber" has a dependency on a non-existent service "asset.query_string".

This was resolved for me by updating Drupal to latest 10.3.5

Which version of D10 is throwing the issue. asset.query_string

I'm getting this same error on a site running Drupal 10.1.8. We can't update to a later D10 release (yet) because we have a custom module the later versions don't run on.

Going to revert the change and start a new branch 2.1.x that will be 10.3 and up only

Okay I actually can't revert this. If I revert then I need. to drop D11 support on 2.0.x and that's just getting to messy.

Recommendation would be to use a lower version of the module till you can update Drupal core to a supported branch.
