Problem/Motivation

Thank you for this great module, that is still super helpful for the Drupal ecosystem.

Sadly it seems it's not very actively maintained currently and we're all quite busy, so I'd like to offer my help as Maintainer.
We're planning to use this module in several projects, so we're interested in long-term development.

Please have a look at my Drupal.org profile for references.

@Grevil would also help as my teammate.

Thank you!

Thanks for the offer: the 4.x version of the module was developed as part of the launch of a D9 website, which is actively using it, however at the moment there is no additional development foreseen. I'm open to grant co-maintainership to other people, my main concern is that the functionality that was built so far keeps working as originally designed, so that our project is not negatively impacted.

Thanks for the positive feedback @plach!

I've contacted @jeremy as you wrote

Anyway, Iā€™m not the primary maintainer of the module, so any decision about granting co-maintainership will have to go through Jeremy ( https://www.drupal.org/u/jeremy ā†’ )

    in our PM.

Would be great to push things forward here :)

@anybody welcome! After reviewing with @plach we've made you a maintainer and welcome your efforts! Please do start a new branch for major new changes, and we also appreciate any efforts to maintain the existing branches.

  • šŸ‡©šŸ‡ŖGermany Anybody Porta Westfalica

Hi @jeremy and @plach thank you very very much!

Yes, of course we'll add a new branch for breaking changes and we can already do that for D11 compatibility and D9 deprecation.
As I'm not having permission to administer maintainers, could you maybe also consider adding my team mate @Grevil?

If you're unsure about that, no problem, we'll definitely work on the issues together. I'll ask him to leave a comment here anyway.

Thank you very much and I'm happy to help pushing things forward in this still very useful module1

PS: Maybe you could have a short look at šŸ“Œ Deprecate old branches and close their issues (< 7.x) and start with a fresh 10.x branch Active

I think we're getting into trouble with the branch names < 8 so I'd suggest starting with "Drupal 10" 10.x?
Without "Administer maintainers" permission I'm not allowed to set the default branch in GitLab project settings, so someone else would have to do that, please.

    Confirming interest in co-maintainership.

  • šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹Italy jeremy Tuscany

@anybody I've bumped up your access to allow you to perform the cleanup you describe
@grevil welcome - redundancy in active maintainership is very welcome!

If either/both of you are at DrupalCon Barcelona next week, please come find me and introduce yourselves!

  • šŸ‡©šŸ‡ŖGermany Anybody Porta Westfalica

    Sadly not, sorry :/

  • šŸ‡©šŸ‡ŖGermany Grevil

    Thank you, @jeremy!

No, sadly not, @anybody won't sponsor the flight and accommodation. šŸ˜„

šŸ˜‚ Too much open source work made us poor...
