Selected items list is not updating properly

I am using Views Bulk Operations module in one of my sites and I am experiencing some issues with it. The count in the selected items list is not updated and the list does not come up with the records selected. See the below screen-shot.

Also, the Clear Selection button is displayed even when no selection is made. See the below screen-shot.

Any help will be much appreciated.

On our side, it always displays "One selected item" though there are none.

And when we click on "Clear selection", all the checkboxes disappear...

Seems pretty buggy at the moment.

Steps to reproduce on a clean instance not affected by custom modules please, because on all my projects selection is updated and there are no complains:
