Frontpage settings to other nodes, e.g. "read more"

Problem/Motivation

I have a second front page with "read more" content, which should behave like the front page.
I can't extend the metatag frontpage settings to this node, but need to add a metatag field to the whole content type and configure it this way. This adds some confusion, because i think the frontpage is configured twice now.

The idea of the front page is that there's only one of them, so having a second page that you want to have the same meta data as the front page seems like a flaw in your site's architecture.

Why is a second frontpage a flaw?
I just moved some less important content to another node and configured this node like the frontpage.
The only other way to separate the frontpages from the other pages seems to be a own content type for each, which adds one content type containing two pages. Or do i miss something?
