Can you provide a log of composer?

If installed in D10.3 will it automatically keep the configuration of the core module?

At first try: It seems it will keep the configuration and automatically replace the core module.
Don't yet know if that works.

Maybe you can state on the module page, that the contrib module automatically replaces the deprecated core module and
continues without data or configuration loss.

I installed it on D10.3 and it worked fine. Sorry for forgetting to mention that in my comment.
