Some Design System have thumbnails for components.
For example, daisyUI 4: https://daisyui.com/components/ (800x418)
Material 3: https://m3.material.io/components (395x200)
DSFR 1: https://www.systeme-de-design.gouv.fr/composants-et-modeles/
Bootstrap 5 and USWDS 3 don(t have such thumbnails AFAIK
SDC has a property to add this thumbnail in definitions. https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/core%21modules%21sdc%21src%21Component...
With an automatic discovery of the thumbnail if it is called "thumbnail.png" and found the component directory.
No public SDC theme are using them for now.
No public UI Suite theme are using them for now, but we can easily ask the maintainers to add them.
Do we leverage this feature in the component selector? How?

This related issue will be useful if we store the thumbnails file outside the component directory and/or we name it something different from "thumbnail.png".
We can still process this issue without waiting the related issue to be done.
postponed to beta3 and let's investigate a popup window like in the "paragraphs" module,
Fieldwidget "paragraph", with the add mode option "Modal form"
