Single Directory Components?

Problem/Motivation

As the Drupal community moves towards adopting the Single Directory Components (SDC) architecture for better frontend code organization and maintainability, it's important to know if the Bootstrap5 theme will support this architecture. This information will help developers plan and align their projects with future updates.

There is already the Vartheme Bootstrap 5 theme using SDC but its coupled component module has a large list of dependencies and I'm not sure if its architecture is line with modern SDC architecture as implemented in Drupal core. It seems to be built on the older UI Patterns modules.

So my question is: is there any plan to convert this theme to use Single Directory Components?

    Thanks for your interest @JurriaanRoelofs.
    We are not planning to move to SDC as technology does not bring any benefits to us as developers or maintainers.
    To give a bit more insight, SDC documentation contains bugs that were not addressed in 6 months so our assumption is SDC is not very popular.
    We usually review the theme goals on an annual basis and SDC is not on the map for 2024-2025.

    Reconsider this decision, Single Directory Components is now fully integrated with Drupal Core. I think your assumption that "SDC is not very popular may be misguided".

    @lhridley speaking about popularity, even basic documentation examples do not work.
    When last time did you review the documentation on SDC?
