This is a nice module with 10k+ installs and there a lot of open issues which could be quickly resolved, but there wasn't a new release in almost 2 years.

Happy to help a bit too.

No immediate plans except D11 compatibility, Gitlab CI and a few bugfixes we rely on, but I have some long-term ideas on how to bring a simplified version of this into the new navigation module in Drupal core.
