Double opt-in field leads to confusion of users not being added to the list

I am testing this module with a webform.
I have correctly selected my list, but when I submit my webform, no new contact appears in my list.

Does the module send a confirmation email to the user with a link to Mailchimp?
Is this a configurable option? Can the user be directly added to the list?

My problem is that I do not see any log indicating that an email has been sent, nor do I receive any email.
Simply the user from the form is not being added to the contacts in my list.
