I think AI module is well place to be part of Drupal CMS within starshot → initiative, so module has to be not too much bloated and bundled with features people most commonly use, and also solid features prepared to be in Drupal CMS.
We could add /admin/structure/webform/addons page like in webform module with well curated list of ecosystem modules which are not now, or not ever part of Drupal CMS' AI module. We also can have many branches of AI module (1.x, 2.x-alpha, 3.x-dev), each new version preparing a little more solid features for CMS.
At some point, when project browser becomes popular, we possibly could deprecate add-ons page if and when AI ecosystem becomes well discoverable within project browser.
