Thanks for working on Forum in the contrib space, I very much appreciate it!
I tried the Forum module, and wanted to enable threaded comments, but couldn't find the setting, after reading the Comment help page at /admin/help/forum. I finally found a hint on the Comment help page /admin/help/comment:
Configuring commenting settings
Commenting settings can be configured by editing the Comments field on the Manage fields page of an entity type if the Field UI module is installed. Configuration includes the label of the comments field, the number of comments to be displayed, and whether they are shown in threaded list.
Want to enable threaded commenting for forum comments, and have a hard time finding the right place, after reading the Comment help page at /admin/help/forum.
Threaded comments is a killer feature, and should be enabled by default in my opinion. Many will want to use it, and those who won't can easily disable it. Having it enabled by default will also showcase the feature to users who may not be aware it.
So maybe "Threading - Show comment replies in a threaded list." can be enabled by default under "Comments settings for Forum topic" /admin/structure/types/manage/forum/fields/node.forum.comment_forum?
Also, it would be nice to link to that configuration form, perhaps by adding a new "Threaded comments" section at the bottom, as seen here?
