Combine facets option does not work correctly

Created on 7 May 2024, 8 months ago

Problem/Motivation

Combined facet does not work correctly when used on 2 taxo ref field from 2 differents content types

Steps to reproduce

  • create 2 content type with one taxo ref field on each
  • use that indexed fields for creating 2 facets
  • select on the first facet the "combine facet" option

the facet links filters correctly when the value is not shared by the 2 content types/fields.
It doesn't filter correctly when the value is shared by both content types/fields
it only displays one of the 2 content type when clicking on a facet link value shared by the 2 content types

Changing the mode or the build order does not fix the problem, nor the AND/OR operator
If selecting the "combine facets" option on both facet , the facet does not appear at all.
Did i miss smthg on how it must be set ?

Also seeing an issue with facets being combined when two content types share the same taxonomy reference.

In my case, the combination of the terms are shown in the filter block, but results only show when the filter term is from the original facet (the one I've selected "combine facets" on.

If I select a filter term from one of the combined facets, even if the term shows 4 results i.e Newsletter (4), when selecting the facet there are no results shown.

  • I am hitting the same problem. I tried with Facets v3.0.0-beta4, and the behaviour is the same, when creating facets in the traditional way. (If using the new "Facets exposed filters" method, combined facets cant be defined at all - but that's a separate problem).
