Default Gitlab notification email

Created on 29 February 2024, 4 months ago

Problem/Motivation

I created an issue and added a MR.
A couple of weeks later, a reply was left on the issue which referenced another comment which I could not see on the issue.
Upon investigation, the referenced comment was left on the MR.
I checked my inbox (and spam) and could not find a notification for the MR comment.

I enquired on slack and recieved this response this response from @fjgarlin:

Check your notification preferences in git.drupalcode.org and make sure you choose your primary emai

Indeed, it was configured to a "@xxx.no-reply.drupal.org" email address. I don't recall specifically setting it (but might have).

Concern was raised that other developers (especially those unfamiliar with Gitlab and its workflow) may also have a 'no-reply' email set.
Another developer confirmed that theirs was also set as such.

Steps to reproduce

Proposed resolution

- Bulk update to default D.O email if set to no-reply

Alternatively, an email to everyone that has the setting to a "no-reply" email, nudging "Hey, you know you're currently not recieving Gitlab notificiations, right? If this is unintended, click the link below and upate the setting."
