Problem/Motivation

There is no .gitlab-ci.yml configuration file in the project.

"GitLab CI uses .gitlab-ci.yml file in the root of the project to configure testing. If you are familiar with the configuration files for Travis CI, GitHub Actions, or even custom DrupalCI yml files, you will find this quite similar."

Thanks for starting this! It looks like something went wrong with the MR, it is against the D7 version but this is probably by mistake.

This is something we urgently need since the DrupalCI infrastructure is going to be dismantled in a few days. I will start a new MR against D8.
