Your hunch is correct! Interestingly, if you had managed to upgrade to Drupal 10.2.1, it probably would not have happened, since this was fixed in release 10.2.1 via 🐛 Views RSS Feed Fields adds tag. Active .

What would be really awesome, is if you upgraded to 10.2.1 and created a blog post, emphasizing that Planet Drupal bloggers should make an effort to upgrade all the way to Drupal 10.2.1, to prevent flooding Planet Drupal :)

As a side note, the Composer upgrade to 10.2.1 may be blocked by Drush. So it may help uninstalling Drush, prior to going through the upgrade process on https://www.drupal.org/docs/upgrading-drupal/upgrading-from-drupal-8-or-... → .
