I'm not sure what needs to be changed or if I have the permission :)
What screen would it be on? Do you know the URL?
I poked around on the settings for the project, the edit page, the releases page, and on gitlab and I don't see a spot to make 2.x the default branch.
On https://www.drupal.org/node/182476/edit/releases β there is a spot where we could mark 2.x as "supported" but it is disabled for me. I'm not sure if we need a point release before we can mark it as supported?

@greggles if you have "Administer maintainers", you should be able to switch the branch.
It's done in GitLab now:
https://git.drupalcode.org/project/email_registration > Settings (left) > Change branch (or similar)I don't have appropriate permissions to see "Settings" on the left in GitLab.
If you can't, please assign another active maintainer. Thanks :)

FYI it's Settings > General > Branch defaults > Default branch. Done now.
This makes sense to me because this is the branch where work is happening, but also could you explain any pros/cons for this change?

Thanks @greggles! Yes the key point is, that it's the default when checking out / creating MR's and because it's the active branch for future development it's risky to have it at the old value. In several projects I saw wrong commits / checkouts caused by an old setting :)

Sorry @greggles, GitLab says 8.x-1.x is still default: https://git.drupalcode.org/project/email_registration/-/branches

Hmm, thanks for the ping. I must not have hit the save button?
Better now?
