Drupal 10 compatibility for Bootstrap 4 - Please tag 4.13 based on head of 8.x-4.x

Created on 18 September 2023, over 1 year ago

Problem/Motivation

Upgrading to Bootstrap 5 breaks our theme.
We need to upgrade our theme for Drupal 10 compatibility without breaking it.

Need a tagged release of the latest 4.x dev, 4.13 needs to be tagged asap.

Steps to reproduce

Upgrade to Drupal 10, radix 5 breaks radix 4 based themes.
Fix this by providing an upgrade for radix 4.

Proposed resolution

Please tag a release based on the head of DEV.

  • Joseph, we cannot really "Make it so" that easily, and you need to keep 1 Radix theme, either Radix 4 or Radix 5, both themes named "radix" and Drupal cannot understand which theme you are talking about

If you want to upgrade to Radix 5, I suggest:
    - Wait until I release 5.1.x, it might not be production-ready but probably worth the wait, things are going to change a lot
    - Upgrade to Radix 5.x and don't have both contrib themes available at the same time

That aside, if you are having issues with radix 8.4.x, and it's not D10 compatible, I believe there's an issue in the issue queue and a patch, I will hopefully merge it soon, can't really maintain too many branches at the moment, sorry

let me know what's the exact case and we can look into it

Se do not want to upgrade to Radix 5, we want the Drupal 10 compatible Radix 4, it appears that we're missing a tagged release.

All that is needed is a tagged release for 4x, the changes appear to have been completed in the dev branch however was never tagged , not released. 4.12 forces Drupal 9

@doxigo, Acquia is strongly urging hosted clients to upgrade to D10 by November 2023, all that is needed for radix 4 is a tagged release of the head of dev, 4.12 is missing one important commit that is in the head of 8.x-4.x

  • 🇨🇦Canada joseph.olstad

it appears you've already done what needs to be done for Radix 4x, however I had to dig to find it in the 4.x dev branch, Radix 4.12 is advertising <=D9 only.

  • Right, thanks for clarifying the ticket, I'll take a look and merge a couple of things and tag a new release

Thanks @doxigo :) Looking forward to this.
