[META] Implement wiki overview as single-page

Created on 31 August 2023, about 1 year ago

Problem/Motivation

There were some tasks leading this project into the wrong direction due to missing time for discussion and meetings before, so everyone gets onboard.

Due to being source-agnosting, Project Wiki is quite different from the typical Drupal implementations we did:

  1. We don't talk about regular Drupal entities, but support all kind of sources for our list of wiki entries
  2. We can't use Views for that reason
  3. We need to allow searching all contents, but can't use Core or Views Search and need to solve it light-weight as nobody pays us for this
  4. ...

But there are still many options, which we simply don't use regularly, so may sound strange first:

  • JS Search
  • Accordion and/or Tree View
  • Anchors to open / jump to a specific result
  • ...

This still makes it possible to have the expected functionality and features without bloating the tasks and needing to invest months of work here. Let's solve this smart with usability first!
(from 📌 Change the display of entries on list page to Teasers Closed: works as designed )

Remaining tasks

  1. Understand the users and our needs for the overview page (expectations) and the different ways of navigations used to find what you're looking for (search, tree, grouping, ...)
  2. Draw a wireframe and present the benefits and needs / problems solved
  3. Implement the functionality
