LOOKING FOR A NEW MAINTAINER

Created on 11 August 2023, 11 months ago
Updated 19 September 2023, 9 months ago

Hi all! I am no longer interested in maintaining this module. I still believe it's needed, I use it everywhere! However, I am content with how the module works, and I can't find the passion to look into the issues anymore. I am doing other things.

With that in mind, would anyone want to become a co-maintainer?

If so, there are a few asks:

  • Please stay reasonably active. I have seen people joining projects, only to disappear immediately after. Please, don't do this, as it causes more harm than it helps
  • We (badly) need issue triage, automated testing, and merging some contributed patches (after validating them)
  • Make this module your own project, but ensure that the old-but-working versions stay alive.

If you are interested drop a comment in the issue queue, or reach out via Drupal Slack.

    Hi @e0ipso,

I'm interested in taking up the role of a co-maintainer. I have understood the guidelines and I'll stay actively involved. Consistent work is key for the module's health and growth. I respect your decision to step back and value the module's effort.

I'm up for issue triage, automated testing, and patch reviews. Let's ensure the module keeps succeeding.

    Thanks

    Hi @e0ipso,

I am writing to express my strong interest in taking up the role of a co-maintainer. I fully understand the responsibilities associated with co-maintaining an open-source project, and I am committed to dedicating the time and effort needed to ensure the continued success of the module.

Thank you for considering my interest. I look forward to your response and the possibility of working together to ensure the continued success of the module.

    Thank you

I'd be willing to help out. This module has a lot of potential moving forward when it comes to permissions, features, and fixes.

I use it on many, many sites. I put together the shift ToolbarHandler, and am currently working on few other tickets here. I maintain a few other modules as well, hold security opt-in privileges, and know the module inside and out.

With over 20K this is a pretty important module.

I have bandwidth and am open to help look after it. Probably would only do security coverage for the D7 version though.

Currently maintain about 20ish modules + subsystem maintain modules on core.

Also willing to help mentor those who wish to become maintainer who may need some initial help.

Nacho, @isholgueras, is a new maintainer. I will let him chime in to say weather or not he thinks he'll be needing the extra help.

Thank you for your generous offers.

Nacho, @isholgueras, is a new maintainer.

What I meant was that I added Nacho a while ago but forgot to close this issue.

Welcome and congratulations to @isholgueras! Thanks for opening this up in the first place to keep things rolling @e0ipso. Looking forward to getting this queue cleaned up.
