I've created a patch that searches for extensions in the base themes of the active theme as well.

Currently you cannot create a sub-theme of a PatternLab/Emulsify theme because the extensions in the parent theme ar not loaded.
- Create a PatternLab/Emulsify theme
- Create a sub-theme that has the PatternLab/Emulsify theme as base theme
- functions defined in the parent theme's components/_twig-components/functions folder are not registered
Search for extensions in the base themes of the active theme as well.
