Created on 5 July 2023, over 1 year ago

If you're getting the following error:

[error] The installed version of the /Crop API/ module is too old to update. Update
to an intermediate version first (last removed version: 8005, installed
version: 8003).

You need to:

  1. install version 2.2 of the module: composer require drupal/crop:2.2
  2. run database updates: drush updb or going to example.com/update.php
  3. install the latest version of the module: composer require drupal/crop:2.3

I am having a similar issue, I have tried your instructions but it doesn't seem to work.

The installed version of the /Crop API/ module is too old to update. Update
to an intermediate version first (last removed version: 8005, installed
    version: 8004).

I'm also having the same issue. Was this ever resolved?

I am going to re-open this ticket as I am also still experiencing this problem on the 2.4.0 version of the module and the fix mentioned causes composer to crash so this solution is not usable.

    Composer error:

    Message during updb:

It would be nice if someone could offer a concrete upgrade path so that this error could be fixed.

Occurred on Drupal 10.2.8, PHP 8.1

You need to install the 2.3 and make the db update first, and after update to 2.4.

If it's the case, maybe a better "message/communication my be better"
