In Open Social version 10 we have introduced a new taxonomy vocabulary called Group types where a user is able to categorise a flexible group using this taxonomy term reference field. At the moment we do not expose this as a filter anyway so its use is limited.
Scope of this story will be to expose the filter in the /all-groups overview.
The filter is visible only when Types for groups is enabled in the group settings /admin/config/opensocial/social-group
If no terms are configured for the Group type vocabulary /admin/structure/taxonomy/manage/group_type/overview no filter is displayed
