Ability to work with svg images

How would this ideally work? Should we just render an SVG instead of an image tag and allow the JS to set a width and height?
I am not sure if we actually need a module for that.

I think that’s all the svg image module does. It ties into the image formatter and if it hits a svg it renders it

Seconding as this is the only factor keeping us from testing implementation of Easy Responsive Images.
