Information tab is not shown by default, users are not shown why they cant save node if log message is not visible. Only disables required field error if the information tab is active
1. Install and enable RRLM module
2. Edit an existing node
3. Make any change to it
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to save
5. Note that information tab is not visible / active
6. Attempt to save node
7. Observe
The node will not save but will also not display an error to the user. Any sort of "log message field is required" notification only displays if the information tab is active.
The error message always displays and points the user to the required log message field

I found a patch for core that allegedly fixes this issue but so far after testing it does not, at least not with this module
