Thank you for Apaderno's reminder. Unfortunately, I cannot see the contact information of other members of the Cantonese translation team and the current administrator. I can only post here and wait for a response from the community administrator.

@apaderno I have already posted this post. I voluntarily serve as an administrator. I’m volunteering my own time.

board of Hong Kong Cantonese on May 19 2023 (3days ago).

The current administrator of Hong Kong Cantonese is iamalwayslost → . Her/his last post was in 2014.

There is currently 10687 suggestions awaiting approval, and none has so far been approved since it was created 10 years ago. To, me, this translation group looks abandoned.

I guess that to follow the strict protocol → for taking over abandoned translation groups, we need to contact iamalwayslost via the contact form on the profile page and wait 14 days. I've sent a PM to iamalwayslost today. Postponing until we get an answer or 14 days has passed (whatever comes first).

Moving to "Postponed" since we're waiting for a reply.

PS: I have no special permissions on localize.drupal.org and cannot intervene and add a new administrator myself, put I presume that one of the admins that monitor this issue queue has such a permissiin.

It does not say ONEXIN is offering to take over that translation group.

@ONEXIN This issue should have been created after posting on the board for that translation group to offer to be the new group manager and after contacting the current group manager.

apaderno, thanks for the heads-up. I just assumed the Chinese text was an offer to take over administration.

Clearly, ONEXIN need to understand and follow the recommended protocol to for this to make any progress.

ONEXIN, I see that you've added that line at the very end of the board post, put the purpose of the post is still very hard to figure out.

The title of the board post needs to make its purpose clear, and should be: "Offer to administer the Hong Kong Cantonese translation group" (in English, in order to allow non-chinese language admins to see that it is an offer to become an administrator without having to resort to translation software. There also are three irrelevant paragraphs where you invite others to join the group,.This doesn't make sense because there is no active administrator that can grant new members the right to approve translations. You should delete those three paragraphs, so that only your offer to administer the translation group remain in the body of the board post.
